Mr. Waleed Al-Afaleq, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wattani Association for Aquaculture, and the Association’s Executive Director met with Dr. Ahmed Al-Saqoufi, Dean of the College of Agricultural and Food Sciences at King Faisal University.
Objective: To explore partnership opportunities and sign a memorandum of understanding in the field of aquaculture research in inland waters.

Participation in the National Program for Fisheries Development Initiatives
Objective: To promote awareness of the nutritional and economic value of aquaculture products and influence consumer behavior during the Aquaculture Forum, attended by industry leaders, investors, and specialists.
Participation in the World Fisheries Day
Wattani Association participated in the World Fisheries Day event, showcasing aquaculture products produced from inland waters.
Participation in the Fish Cuisine Festival – Hail Region
The Association participated in the Fish Cuisine Festival held in the Hail Region from the 26th till the 29th of November, 2022.
Cooperation Agreement with AIT University, Thailand
MOU agreement was signed with AIT University in Thailand, aimed at transferring leading international expertise to inland aquaculture projects in the Kingdom.
Objective: To advance and develop the Saudi aquaculture industry.
Partnership Agreement with FC FARM
Wattani Association signed a partnership agreement with PC FARM to collaborate and exchange expertise in the production of Nile and Red Tilapia fingerlings.
Objective: To improve productivity in inland water aquaculture projects across the Kingdom, noting that the company possesses a genetic bank for both fish species.

Workshop Participation – “Maintaining Fish Quality”
The Association presented a working paper titled “Methods for Preserving Fish Quality” during the Fish Quality Workshop organized by the National Program for the Development of the Livestock and Fisheries Sector.
The First Saudi International Catering Conference
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, Wattani Association participated in the First Saudi International Catering Conference, held from May 17–19, 2023, at the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Exhibition and Events Center.
Objective: To promote and market aquaculture products.
Cooperation Agreement with King Faisal University
A cooperation agreement was signed between King Faisal University and Wattani Association for Aquaculture on the sidelines of the International Algae Conference and Exhibition and the Saudi International Fisheries Exhibition.
Objective: To strengthen research collaboration and develop aquaculture projects in inland waters.
Memorandum of Understanding with the Saudi Aquaculture Society
A memorandum of understanding was signed with the Saudi Aquaculture Society.
Objective: To exchange expertise, enhance cooperation, and coordinate joint efforts to develop the inland aquaculture industry.
February 6, 2024 – Cooperation Agreement
A cooperation agreement was signed between Wattani Association for Aquaculture and Masader Platform for Supplier Solutions in the meat and fish sectors.
Objective: To market and promote aquaculture products.
